LAUTECH operates a strictly differential fee structure favoring indigenes of Oyo State following its sole-ownership transition. For fresh 100-Level students, tuition ranges significantly from roughly ₦316,000 to over ₦787,000 per session depending on the faculty (Clinical Sciences, Nursing, and Engineering are at the highest tiers) and whether the student is an indigene or non-indigene. Returning students pay much lower legacy rates.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is a foremost state-owned tech university in Nigeria. Originally established in 1990 by the old Oyo State and later jointly managed with Osun State, LAUTECH is now solely owned by the Oyo State Government. Recognized for its exceptionally high academic standards in science, technology, and medicine, the university operates a dynamic multi-campus system with its Main Campus in Ogbomoso and a specialized College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources in Iseyin.
Life as a LAUTECH student is rigorous and tech-driven. The institution heavily relies on digital infrastructure, with students accessing course registrations, fees, and results through advanced online portals (apply.lautech.edu.ng). The environment fosters innovation, supported by well-equipped laboratories, workshops, and extensive ICT facilities. Students engage in vibrant extracurriculars and benefit from flexible pathways including an expansive Part-Time School, JUPEB, and Open and Distance Learning Centre (LODLC).
💡 Pro Tip: Admissions at LAUTECH are strictly merit-based. You must make LAUTECH your first choice institution. The university utilizes a strict 80:20 grading formula for screening: 80% based on your JAMB score and 20% on your O'Level grades. Therefore, having A's and B's in your WAEC/NECO drastically boosts your chances. If you are aiming for highly competitive flagship courses like Medicine (280+), Nursing (260+), or Engineering (220+), a baseline score of 170 is insufficient. Furthermore, medical applicants must ensure their O'Level results are from a single sitting. Direct entry candidates should be prepared for a mandatory physical interview.
Direct Entry candidates must hold a minimum of a Second Class Lower degree, Upper Credit in ND, Registered Nursing (RN) certificate, Merit in NCE, Lower Credit in HND, or JUPEB. DE candidates must forward academic transcripts one week prior to screening and must physically attend the Oral and Written Interviews at the Ogbomoso campus.
LAUTECH evaluates UTME candidates via an automated online document screening rather than a physical CBT exam. Admission aggregates are calculated strictly using a formula: 80% of the UTME score and 20% derived from the candidate's 5 core O'Level grades. Candidates must pay a ₦2,000 registration fee plus a ₦3,000 portal access fee (Total: ₦5,000), and must upload a clear JPEG passport (white background, under 20KB). Admission offered on CAPS must be accepted within 3 weeks or it will be forfeited.
