Avoid the highly competitive screening baseline by targeting these safe score margins.

UNIBEN strictly enforces a high baseline cut-off mark. A minimum UTME score of 200 is generally required to participate in the Post-UTME screening. However, highly competitive programs like Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Law, Pharmacy, and Computer Science demand aggregate scores significantly higher than the baseline.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
UNIBEN conducts a physical Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Post-UTME. Final admission relies on a weighted aggregate formula: Aggregate = (JAMB Score ÷ 8) + (Post-UTME Score ÷ 2). Upon admission, the entire clearance process is conducted STRICTLY ONLINE via the Waeup Kofa portal (no physical campus visit required). Freshmen must upload specific credentials including a Red Background Passport photograph, O'Level Scratch Cards, a Guarantor's Letter, and sworn Affidavits for Good Conduct and Non-Membership of Secret Cults.
Direct Entry candidates must possess a minimum of Merit in NCE, an ND/HND at Upper Credit level, or acceptable passes in JUPEB/A'Level in relevant subjects. They must satisfy the basic O'Level requirements and apply through the UNIBEN Kofa portal.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at UNIBEN is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). If you score below the hard departmental minimum, your portal choice will face immediate drop filters regardless of aggregate score metrics.
