Kano State Polytechnic (KANOPOLY) is a premier state-owned tertiary institution established in 1975. Designed to accelerate technological and entrepreneurial development in Northern Nigeria, the polytechnic is uniquely structured into several highly specialized, semi-autonomous schools spread across the state. These include the School of Technology (SOT), School of Management Studies (SMS), School of Environmental Studies (SES) in Gwarzo, and the School of Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship Development (SORTED) in Rano.

The institution accepts a wide variety of O'Level qualifications, including NBAIS. HND applicants must ensure they have completed their mandatory 1-year IT program before applying.
For Higher National Diploma (HND) admissions, candidates must possess a relevant National Diploma (ND) from an NBTE-recognized institution with a minimum of Lower Credit. They must also provide evidence of one (1) year post-ND mandatory industrial training (IT). Candidates with an ND Pass grade require a minimum of two (2) years of post-ND work experience.
Kano State Polytechnic conducts an online Post-UTME screening exercise. Candidates are required to fill out their bio-data, upload their O'Level results, and pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,500 exclusively through the official polytechnic portal. Applicants are strongly advised to avoid unofficial agents or websites to prevent fraud. Uploading O'Level results to JAMB CAPS is mandatory for ND candidates.
