The Federal University of Education, Kontagora (FUEK)—formerly known as the Federal College of Education, Kontagora—is a premier tertiary institution located in Niger State. Originally established in 1978, the institution underwent a historic transmutation, officially attaining University status. Organized into five comprehensive Faculties (including Science Education, Vocational Education, and Specialized Education), FUEK is now fully mandated to award autonomous undergraduate degrees (B.Sc Ed, B.A Ed, B.Ed) to train the next generation of top-tier Nigerian educators.
Situated along the Mokwa-Bokani-Kontagora Road, the university operates a sprawling campus in the historic city of Kontagora. The transition to university status has brought a wave of infrastructural and digital developments. Students enjoy a well-organized Student Union Government (SUG), highly affordable on-campus housing, digitized library systems, and modernized laboratories designed to foster excellence in teacher education.
💡 Pro Tip: Admission into FUEK is straightforward but highly regulated. 100-Level candidates must score at least 150 in the UTME and possess 5 O'Level credits (strictly including English and Math) in no more than two sittings. If you are applying for Direct Entry into 200-Level, you need a Lower Credit/Merit in an ND/NCE or valid 'A' Level passes. Ensure you have digitized copies of your Birth Certificate, State of Origin, JAMB result, and O'Level results ready, as the university uses a seamless 4-step online application and tracking system.

For 200 Level (Direct Entry), candidates must have a Lower Credit/Merit level in a relevant ND or equivalent NCE program. Alternatively, candidates can apply with two (2) 'A' Level passes in relevant subjects plus 5 O’Level credits, OR three (3) 'A' Level passes plus 3 O’Level credits. In all cases, O'Level credits in English and Mathematics are compulsory.
FUEK utilizes a 4-step online application process: (1) Check Requirements, (2) Gather Documents, (3) Complete the Online Application via the university portal, and (4) Submit and Track progress online.
