The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti (FPA), is a premier federal technical institution located in the capital city of Ekiti State, Nigeria. Established in 1977 to train middle and high-level technical manpower for the Nigerian economy, the polytechnic operates five major academic schools offering highly sought-after programs in Engineering, Science, Business, Environmental Studies, and Agriculture.
Situated on a massive and well-planned permanent site in Ado-Ekiti, the polytechnic offers a bustling, technically driven campus environment. Students have access to extensive engineering workshops, modern science laboratories, agricultural demonstration farms, and a centralized library. The institution strongly integrates digital e-learning portals into its curriculum. While campus hostels are subsidized and highly competitive, a thriving off-campus student community surrounds the institution.
💡 Pro Tip: Admission into the regular ND programs at Federal Poly Ado is merit-driven. Candidates scoring 140 and above in JAMB are eligible to apply, but those aiming for competitive courses like Computer Science or Electrical Engineering should target higher scores. Ensure your O'Level results are uploaded strictly to the JAMB CAPS portal. HND applicants must secure their official ND transcripts and complete the mandatory industrial attachment before processing their application.
For admission into Higher National Diploma (HND) programs, candidates must hold a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in a relevant discipline, along with evidence of a mandatory one-year post-ND Industrial Training (IT). Candidates with an ND 'Pass' grade must present evidence of two years of post-ND IT experience.
The polytechnic conducts an online Post-UTME screening exercise. Candidates are required to fill out the application form on the university's portal, make the screening payment, and ensure their O'Level results are successfully uploaded to the JAMB CAPS portal.
