Avoid the highly competitive screening baseline by targeting these safe score margins.

COOU strictly enforces a two-tier cut-off system. The general cut-off mark for most courses in Arts, Education, Natural Sciences, and Physical Sciences is 150. However, highly competitive professional programs—specifically Law, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Pharmacy—strictly require a minimum JAMB score of 200.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
COOU does not conduct a physical CBT exam for its Post-UTME. Instead, it uses an online document screening process. Candidates generate an invoice for ₦2,000 via Remita, pay online or at any bank, and upload their JAMB result slip and O'Level certificate(s) to the school portal. Critically, uploading O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal via an accredited CBT center is strictly mandatory to be considered for admission.
Direct Entry candidates must possess an OND, HND, First Degree, or A'Level qualification in relevant disciplines. DE candidates must also register through the specific Direct Entry panel on the COOU portal.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at COOU is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). If you score below the hard departmental minimum, your portal choice will face immediate drop filters regardless of aggregate score metrics.
