About AUST & Campus Life

The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), located in the heart of Abuja, is a premier Pan-African institution of higher learning. Founded in 2007 by the Nelson Mandela Institution with backing from the World Bank, AUST was conceived to advance science, technology, and innovation across the African continent. Initially dedicated strictly to elite postgraduate research, the university now brings its world-class faculty, research centers (like the Pan African Materials Institute), and cutting-edge facilities to undergraduate students.

AUST offers an incredibly diverse and technologically advanced campus experience. It houses students from across the African continent in premium, structured residential halls. Students benefit from access to High-Performance Computing (HPC) centers, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), high-speed internet, and industry-backed professional development through hubs like AUSTInspire and the Centre for Project-Based Learning.

💡 Pro Tip: Admission into AUST's undergraduate programs is streamlined but highly competitive in quality. A baseline JAMB score of 140 makes you eligible to apply through their online portal. Candidates with HND (Lower Credit) or ND/NCE (Merit/Credit) should actively explore AUST's accommodating Direct Entry policies which allow entry into the 200 or 300 Level.
