ABUAD Admission Requirements (O'Level & Direct Entry)

Candidates must sit for the current year's UTME (results of past UTME are not allowed). Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) O'Level credit passes in relevant subjects (including English Language and Mathematics). For general programs, these can be obtained at not more than two sittings. However, candidates applying for Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) and Law MUST obtain all 5 required credits in exactly ONE sitting. Candidates awaiting results are eligible to apply.

Direct Entry Rules

Direct Entry applicants must possess a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, or two A'Level passes in relevant subjects. Nursing DE candidates require an RN certificate or a B.Sc in a related field. Candidates must complete the JAMB Direct Entry form.

Post UTME Screening Format

ABUAD utilizes a rigorous online application process, followed by scheduled Post-UTME screening exercises. Screening typically involves document verification and an aptitude assessment for highly competitive courses.

💡 ABUAD opens its Post-UTME application extremely early (typically in June) and conducts admission screenings in multiple consecutive batches. Candidates who did not initially choose ABUAD in JAMB can participate seamlessly by paying an additional ₦3,500 'change of institution' fee directly on the university's admission portal. Early application in the first batch is critical for highly competitive, quota-restricted programs.

As an elite private university, the massive financial commitment (with tuition ranging from ₦1.1M to over ₦6.1M) serves as the primary admission filter. Candidates meeting the 150 JAMB baseline and possessing the financial capacity are practically guaranteed admission into general Science, Arts, and Engineering programs. However, premium programs like Medicine & Surgery (MBBS), Law, and Nursing maintain strict professional quotas and demand much higher UTME aggregates. Furthermore, candidates applying for Law and MBBS face an unbending administrative hurdle: they MUST possess their 5 core O'Level credits in a single sitting combining WAEC and NECO leads to automatic disqualification.
