Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), is an elite private university founded in 2009 by the renowned lawyer and philanthropist, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN). Recognized as a benchmark for quality education in Africa, ABUAD operates a massive, state-of-the-art campus. It boasts autonomous professional colleges including the highly prestigious College of Law, a newly unbundled College of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), and a world-class Multi-System Teaching Hospital.
ABUAD provides a highly structured, secure, and fully residential campus life. The university’s infrastructure is internationally competitive, featuring modern laboratories, uninterrupted power supply, expansive agricultural farms, and luxurious hostel options ranging from standard shared rooms to single-occupancy super-deluxe suites. Students are held to high disciplinary and ethical standards, preparing them for professional excellence.
💡 Pro Tip: Admission into ABUAD is heavily sought-after. While a JAMB score of 150 grants baseline eligibility for standard programs, candidates applying for Law, Medicine, Nursing, or Pharmacy must secure high UTME scores. Critically, applicants for Law and MBBS MUST possess their 5 O'Level credits in a single sitting. You can apply with awaiting results, but past UTME results are strictly prohibited. Prepare financially for mandatory auxiliary charges like the ₦30,000 PTCF levy and ₦10,000 Medical Screening fee.
Direct Entry applicants must possess a National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, or two A'Level passes in relevant subjects. Nursing DE candidates require an RN certificate or a B.Sc in a related field. Candidates must complete the JAMB Direct Entry form.
ABUAD utilizes a rigorous online application process, followed by scheduled Post-UTME screening exercises. Screening typically involves document verification and an aptitude assessment for highly competitive courses.
