The general baseline cutoff is 160. However, highly competitive programs operate strictly on higher departmental cut-offs. For instance, Law requires a minimum of 220, while Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Accounting, and Computing courses generally require much higher aggregates.

AAUA conducts a mandatory online Post-UTME screening. Candidates are required to pay a total of ₦5,000 (₦2,000 for Post-UTME Registration and ₦3,000 for Portal Access Fee) via E-tranzact. O'Level results must be uploaded accurately to both the university portal and JAMB CAPS.
Direct Entry candidates must choose AAUA as their first choice and possess one of the following: a 1st Degree (Second Class Lower Division), ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower Credit), JUPEB (minimum of 6 Points), or NCE (minimum of 8 Points). All DE candidates must participate in the online screening.
