About AAPOLY & Campus Life

Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAPOLY) is a state-owned tertiary institution located in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State. Originally established in 2006 as 'The Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo', it was renamed in 2009 to honor the late elder statesman, Senator Abraham Adesanya. The polytechnic is strategically positioned as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) driven institution, offering NBTE-approved programs across Science, Engineering, Business Management, and Environmental Studies.

Occupying a massive 300-hectare land area in the serene town of Ijebu-Igbo, AAPOLY provides an engaging, hands-on academic environment. The polytechnic focuses heavily on technologically-based education for self-reliance, giving students access to globally recognized IT training through its Cisco Networking Academy and Oracle Academy partnerships. The school culture highly values practical skills, preparing students to meet real-world challenges.

💡 Pro Tip: Gaining admission into AAPOLY requires strategic preparation. For ND applicants, you need 5 credits in a single sitting or 6 credits across two sittings—and regardless of your course, English and Mathematics are strictly compulsory. If you scored 120 and above in JAMB, you qualify for the regular Full-Time ND. Candidates who scored below 120 are explicitly eligible to apply for the institution's Part-Time ND programs. Prospective HND students—especially those targeting specialized tracks like Software & Web Development, Journalism & Media Studies, or Environmental Biology—must ensure they have their original ND transcripts, industrial attachment completion letters, and their previous ND JAMB Registration Number ready.

Crucially, credit passes in both English Language and Mathematics are strictly compulsory for ALL applicants. AAPOLY must be selected as the first choice, or candidates must apply for a change of institution.

Direct Entry Rules

For Higher National Diploma (HND) programs, applicants must have a National Diploma (ND) with at least a Lower Credit, plus evidence of completing a mandatory one-year post-ND Industrial Training (IT). ND 'Pass' grade holders require two years of IT. It is strictly mandatory for all HND Full-Time applicants to provide the JAMB Registration Number used for their ND programs.
