Avoid the highly competitive screening baseline by targeting these safe score margins.
Safe Range
180 - 240
The baseline JAMB UTME cut-off mark for most degree programmes is 150. However, competitive courses have much higher departmental thresholds. For instance, Medicine & Surgery requires 290 (Merit), Common & Islamic Law requires 250, Nursing Science requires 240, and Engineering/Computing courses generally require 180.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
UDUS conducts an online Post-UTME screening exercise which primarily involves the verification of O'Level and JAMB credentials. Candidates must accurately upload their results to both the university portal and JAMB CAPS.
Direct Entry candidates must make UDUS their first choice and possess an ND (Minimum of Lower Credit), HND, NCE (Minimum of Merit), or IJMB/A-Level passes in relevant subjects.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at UDUS is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). If you score below the hard departmental minimum, your portal choice will face immediate drop filters regardless of aggregate score metrics.
