Ijagun Main Campus
Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode
Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), located in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, is a trailblazing institution. Established in 2005, it is the premier University of Education in Nigeria. TASUED is uniquely structured into specialized Colleges rather than traditional Faculties. It offers specialized dual-degree programs, equipping students with both deep disciplinary knowledge in pure sciences, arts, or management, alongside the pedagogical expertise required to be elite educators.
TASUED operates primarily from its vibrant Ijagun Main Campus. The university provides an immersive academic environment geared toward educational innovation, vocational training, and entrepreneurial development. Students enjoy access to modern teaching laboratories, robust ICT infrastructure, and a proactive student union.
💡 Pro Tip: To secure admission into TASUED, it is mandatory to make the institution your first choice and score at least 160 in the UTME. TASUED uses a Point Grading System instead of a physical exam, meaning your O'Level grades (WAEC/NECO) carry significant weight in calculating your final aggregate. Ensure your results are uploaded to both the TASUED ORVS portal and JAMB CAPS. Additionally, age compliance is strictly enforced—you must be 16 years old by September 30 of your admission year.

The absolute biggest secret to gaining admission into TASUED is understanding their Point Grading System. Because they do not conduct a physical Post-UTME exam, your WAEC or NECO grades are your ultimate weapon. A candidate with 170 in JAMB but straight A's in their O'Level will easily defeat a candidate with 220 in JAMB who barely scraped by with C6s. Furthermore, take advantage of their 'Dual-Course' structure. If a 'Pure' course like B.Sc. Computer Science is too competitive, immediately process a Change of Course to B.Sc.(Ed.) Computer Science. The cut-off is significantly lower, the tuition is cheaper (₦170,500 vs ₦180,500), and you still study the exact same core concepts.
TASUED is located in Ijagun, right on the outskirts of Ijebu-Ode. Because on-campus hostel spaces are severely limited, the surrounding host communities—Ijagun, Imaweje, and Ijele—have evolved into massive, bustling off-campus student towns. Imaweje is particularly popular for its vibrant lifestyle and affordable lodges. Beyond accommodation, the most critical survival rule at TASUED is mastering their mandatory Vocational and Entrepreneurial Studies. Every single student is forced to learn a practical trade (like tailoring, catering, or woodwork) alongside their degree. Do not joke with these vocational classes; you literally cannot graduate or receive your certificate without passing your chosen trade, regardless of how high your CGPA is.

Direct Entry candidates must choose TASUED as their first choice and possess an NCE with at least Merit in 2 core subjects, an OND/HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, or JUPEB/IJMB/'A' Level passes. DE candidates must complete the online screening and immediately submit physical copies of their Screening Report and Notification of Result to the Admission Office.
TASUED conducts a mandatory Online Admission Screening Exercise. There is no physical examination. Candidates are assessed via a Point Grading System using their UTME score and SSCE grades. Candidates must use the Online Result Verification System (ORVS) to fetch and submit their O'Level results, and must also upload them to JAMB CAPS.
