While the baseline JAMB UTME cut-off mark to purchase the screening form is 150, NDU operates a highly competitive tiered system. Medicine & Surgery requires 250+. Law requires 220+. Pharmacy and Nursing Science require 200+. Engineering and Management Sciences generally require 180+.

Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
The Post-UTME screening involves an online application via `screening.nduportal.com`. Candidates pay the ₦2,000 fee, fill in their O'Level and JAMB details, and print their acknowledgement slips. Depending on the academic session, NDU may conduct a physical Aptitude Test. Uploading O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal is absolutely mandatory.
Direct Entry candidates must possess a minimum of an Upper Credit at the National Diploma (ND) level, an NCE with a minimum of Merit, or valid Advanced Level (JUPEB/IJMB) passes in relevant subjects. DE candidates undergo the same online screening process.
