NSUK uses a strict tiered cut-off system. The general baseline is 170. Computer Science, Engineering courses, Health Information Management, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Environmental Health Science require a minimum of 180. Law and Community Health Sciences strictly require 200.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
NSUK conducts a strictly online document screening (no physical exam). Candidates register at ug.nsuk.edu.ng, pay ₦2,000, and must input an O'Level scratch card for verification. Screening results are automatically generated on the portal after 24 hours. Candidates must use a personal phone number. Following admission, candidates have a strict 4-week grace period to accept it on JAMB CAPS, otherwise, the admission will be permanently cancelled.
Direct Entry candidates must choose NSUK as first choice and possess a minimum of Lower Credit in ND or NSUK Diploma, Merit in NCE, or 8 Points in IJMB. Crucially, DE candidates applying for Community Health, Environmental Health Science, or Health Information Management MUST be licensed by their respective professional bodies.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at NSUK is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
