Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is a fast-growing federal institution established by the Nigerian government in 2011 to expand access to high-quality tertiary education. Known for its rapid academic evolution and massive infrastructural expansion, FUOYE has grown from its initial foundational schools to an impressive 16 unbundled faculties. Today, it hosts a fully approved College of Medicine, a Faculty of Pharmacy, a Faculty of Law, and highly specialized schools for Computing and Communication & Media Studies.
FUOYE operates a dynamic multi-campus system. The Main Campus in Oye-Ekiti houses the majority of the administrative and academic faculties (including Sciences, Law, and Medicine), while the Ikole-Ekiti campus is dedicated to Engineering, Agriculture, and Environmental Design. The university provides an intellectually stimulating environment with diverse cultural representation, entrepreneurial training, and extensive digitized portals (eCampus) to streamline student registrations, hostel allocations, and fee payments.
💡 Pro Tip: Admission into FUOYE has become increasingly competitive. You must make FUOYE your First Choice institution and score a minimum of 160 in JAMB. Rather than writing a physical Post-UTME exam, FUOYE grades candidates using an aggregate system that heavily weighs both your JAMB score and the quality of your O'Level grades. Ensure your JAMB subject combination perfectly aligns with the university's brochure requirements. Remember that uploading your O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal is a strict, non-negotiable prerequisite for admission. MBBS candidates must note the strict 'one-sitting' O'Level rule.
Direct Entry candidates must possess at least two (2) A' Level (or equivalent) Credit passes in relevant subjects, an ND at Upper Credit, an NCE with a Credit Pass, an HND with a minimum of Lower Credit, or a good first degree in another field. Inter-University Transfer applicants must pay a ₦150,000 transfer fee and ensure their official transcripts are mailed directly to the Registrar.
FUOYE utilizes a comprehensive online point-based screening system rather than a physical CBT exam. Candidates must pay a ₦2,000 screening fee, complete their profile using their JAMB Registration Number, verify their email, and upload their O'Level results to the university portal. Uploading O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal is also strictly mandatory.
