Avoid the highly competitive screening baseline by targeting these safe score margins.
Safe Range
180 - 240
FUDMA implements a strictly tiered cut-off system. The baseline UTME score is 150 for general courses. A score of 160 is required for mid-tier competitive courses (Accounting, Economics and Development Studies, Political Science, Library and Information Science, Sociology, Mass Communication, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Microbiology). A minimum score of 180 is strictly required for all courses in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Nursing Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Faculty of Law.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
FUDMA conducts a mandatory Post-UTME Computer-Based Test (CBT), which is followed by a physical credential screening phase for successful candidates. Applicants must create an account on the university portal, pay the screening fee, and accurately fill in their academic data. CBT login credentials are sent directly to the candidate's email prior to the exam. Candidates MUST bring all original credentials to the physical screening or risk being turned away.
Direct Entry candidates must select FUDMA as their first choice. They must possess a minimum of Lower Credit in a National Diploma (ND) or National Innovative Diploma (NID); 9 points at NCE; 9 points at IJMB (with at least 3 points in all courses taken) for Health Sciences; or 6 points at IJMB (with at least 1 point in all courses taken) for other courses.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at FUDMA is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). If you score below the hard departmental minimum, your portal choice will face immediate drop filters regardless of aggregate score metrics.
