Avoid the highly competitive screening baseline by targeting these safe score margins.
Safe Range
190 - 240
ESUT uses a strict tiered cut-off system. General courses require 160. Specific competitive courses like Anatomy, Accountancy, and Mass Communication require 180. Med Lab and Computer Science require 200. Pharmacy requires 220. Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Law require a minimum of 240.
Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Five (5) O'Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at not more than two sittings (Note: Highly competitive federal departments frequently enforce a single-sitting rule).
ESUT conducts a strictly online Post-UTME screening exercise; candidates are NOT required to appear for a physical screening or aptitude test. If candidates miss the primary admission list, ESUT typically opens a Supplementary Admission window (usually requiring a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,600 via the portal) for programs that still have carrying capacity.
Direct Entry candidates must choose ESUT as their first choice and apply online. Candidates must have at least two A'Level passes, plus five O'Level credits, or an equivalent qualification (such as an ND/HND with the requisite grade, or JUPEB). Transcripts must be forwarded directly to the ESUT Registrar.
The single biggest mistake candidates make when applying for Nursing Science at ESUT is assuming that hitting the university's baseline general cut-off mark ensures eligibility for the screening process. Nursing operates inside highly restrictive capacity caps mandated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). If you score below the hard departmental minimum, your portal choice will face immediate drop filters regardless of aggregate score metrics.
